Toyota Plans to Launch Digital Bank

Toyota Financial Services is planning the launch of a new digital bank which will be available beyond the dealers they typically have focused on; the bank recently hired a new Chief Information Officer, Vipin Gupta, who was formally with Key Community Bank; Vipin sat down for an interview with American Banker to discuss the changes; the interview covered how it was for him to switch from traditional banking to auto finance and how they plan to offer their digital bank to everyone; they are discussing the timeline for launch now but believe once they get organized it will be quick; the interview also talks about developing APIs, data, automation at factories and more.
