TOKEN2049 cryptocurrency conference set for Singapore

Asia’s biggest Web3 conference will go live in Singapore, organized alongside partner events during Asia Crypto Week, Sept. 28 and 29.

Dubbed the largest crypto-focused conference in the region, Fintech Nexus announced a partnership with TOKEN2049 on Friday.

Asia’s premier cryptocurrency conference

Previously held in Hong Kong and London in 2019 before the pandemic, TOKEN2049 attracted hundreds of attendees and speakers like Eth founder Vitalik Buterin. This year, the conference opens in Singapore for the first time, advertising 3,000-plus attendees and 150 speakers.

Asian Crypto Week runs from Sept. 26 to Oct. 2 as a series of partner events around the main show. Founder Raphael Stauch said the energy is palpable. The event recently announced a 200-member and growing industry advertiser list.

“The numbers don’t lie, and this overwhelming interest and energy only bode well for the industry,” Staunch said. “I’m thrilled to see the conversations and solutions emerging from Singapore this September.”

This year’s speaking lineup features Stani Kulechov, Founder and CEO of AAVE, the leading open-source and non-custodial liquidity protocol, and Justin Sun, founder of the Tron Blockchain.

Haseeb Kureshi, Managing Partner of Dragonfly Capital, and Eli Ben-Sasson, Co-Founder and President of Starkware and co-inventor of zkSTARK, will hit the stage.

They planned the event ahead of the weekend of the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2022 race.

TOKEN2049: Sponsors galore

New additions to the events sponsor lineup include the crypto exchanges OKX, Kucoin, AAX, and the hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger. The conference will also feature the trade platform Bi1tget and homegrown Singaporean crypto exchange Coinhako.

TOKEN2049 was incredibly proud of the sponsor addition of the South Korean game company WEMADE, a games studio that recently branched into crypto and NFT gaming. They initially made the MMORPG series Legend of Mir, which saw 120 million players worldwide in 2012.

A WEMADE spokesperson said industry innovation is unprecedented, and TOKEN2049 couldn’t come at a better time.

Racing to the future of Web3

Panels and keynotes at the event address a broad agenda — from the evolving regulatory landscape and institutional investment trends to the rise of the metaverse, Web3, and what this will ultimately mean for the industry as mainstream awareness intensifies.

The Singapore event is set to be the largest in TOKEN2049’s history amid the token economy’s huge potential to transform industries and communities around the world.

McLaren Racing Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo a brand ambassador for the crypto trading platform OKX, will be speaking at the conference ahead of Sunday’s Singapore Grand Prix 2022 race, sharing his views on digital assets and the evolving nature of fan engagement.

As part of Asia Crypto Week, attendees can expect to attend a full lineup of side events, including Pantera Blockchain Summit Asia, Milken Institute Asia Summit, and Algorand AVM Singapore, with more to come, the firm said.
