The Shifting Definition of Fintech

Business Insider polled 44 executives in banking, investing and fintech about their definition of the term; banks see fintech firms as friends not foes with most respondents to the survey describing fintech startups as collaborators and partners; investors have a complicated view of fintech with many investors thinking there are borders being created within the market and others thinking the term should be obsolete; fintech executives had the widest set of views especially with the recent entrance of big tech into banking; the traditional way of thinking about the term has shifted with fintech companies beginning to move beyond their core offerings to provide a fuller and newer experience to that of their incumbent partners.
