The Regulatory Landscape for Crypto and Blockchain is Still Evolving

The markets for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies has taken many different turns in the last few years; regulators have certainly taken notice but there was a shift in the urgency of their thinking after Facebook announced their plans around Libra; Business Insider takes a closer look at how the regulators around the world are thinking about the markets today and what could be on tap in the near future; the U.S. has been generally positive and the various financial agencies have taken the lead to date; Europe has been equally positive to date but has recently started to regulate cryptocurrencies and crypto services providers closer, especially in regards to anti-money laundering; global regulators are examining uses but there is still no consensus on how to regulate the various aspects to the markets; Facebook has helped to push the regulatory thinking but action is still lacking.
