American Banker has compiled a list of some of the key trends in banking that will define what banking will look like in 2030; the list includes big tech will drive deeper into banking; banks and fintechs will continue to prioritize customer insights; banks will find more ways to partner with fintech startups which will lead to new arguments from each side; data will become a big point of contention; challenger banks will bulk up and become new age versions of the traditional banks; small banks may begin shifting to alternative core technology providers; generation Z will help to reshape banking expectations and the workforce overall will be digital first; many of these trends have already started but the next 10 years could change more in banking than the last 100.
