Survey Shows Bank Executives Fear New Payments Tech the Most

A new survey by Promotory Interfinancial Network of 543 senior bank executives showed that their number one fear is the payments services Apple Pay, PayPal, Stripe and Venmo; their second bigger fear is competition from online lenders and third was online investment advisory platforms; interestingly 40% of bankers said they expect no significant change to deposit competition in the coming year despite the rise of fintech companies like Chime, Varo, MoneyLion and others; this is likely because interest rates are going down.
