Singapore Launches New Fast Track Patents for Fintech

The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) has launched a new initiative to fast track Fintech patents; typically a patent would take close to 2 years, with the new initiative they can cut the time to about 6 months; this will cover electronic payments, investment platforms, insurance technology, blockchain, banking, security, fraud and more; the move is seen as part of a broader strategy for the country as they look to become a fintech destination.
