Roundup of Social Lending News – June 2, 2012

Every Saturday I bring you the latest news from the world of peer to peer lending. These are the best of the news articles and blog posts from around the web that I shared on Twitter this past week.

We had quite an interesting range of stories in this holiday shortened week. Of course, one of the big stories of the week was crossing the $1 billion milestone for Prosper and Lending Club but perhaps the most interesting story came out of the UK. As the BBC reports the UK government is investing £100 million in alternative  business lenders and Funding Circle, the peer to business lender, has put up their hand for £30 million of that money. Also, I have been following SmallKnot the last couple of months and there is an interesting interview with their CEO below. Enjoy your weekend.
