Revolut Learns Lessons as they Grow

Revolut has become one of the most valuable and talked about fintech startups in the world as they have amassed more than 4.5 million customers with 12,000 accounts being opened daily; they have recently had some growing pains and have been in the news for negative reasons the last few months, though the company does say reports were inaccurate; “We were fighting for our survival — there were a lot of fires,” CEO Nikolay Storonsky tells the FT. “We didn’t really have enough budget to hire a lot of great people in compliance.”; the company has hired more than 200 people in compliance and has plans to double that number soon; they also plan to look at another fundraising round in the near future, one they say will be more than their competitors who have raised hundreds of millions.
