Rate Rise Uncertainty, Fintech News and Securitization Update

In this week’s PeerIQ Industry Update they cover the uncertainty from the recent Fed meeting about whether or not there will be a rate rise in 2019; Square’s ILC charter has run into opposition after early support; Goldman Sachs and Apple have partnered on a credit card that includes new iPhone features; Structured Credit Investor magazine brought up some concerns about marketplace lending and the maturing of the market; so far the first two months of 2019 has seen 5 securitization deals worth about $1.7bn, this is a 23 percent drop from the same period last year; deals in 2019 include two from SoFi, one each from Marlette, Upgrade and Prosper.
