Public Cloud Providers Continue Poaching Wall Street Veterans to Lure Clients

Cloud providers Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft, and IBM have been working to convince more financial services companies to work with cloud computing; Google Cloud just hired Yolande Piazza as VP of Financial Services, Piazza was a 32 year veteran of Citi and was CEO of Citi Fintech at the time of her leaving; “She has a track record in the industry of being hands on and co-creating with customers. We need someone who isn’t afraid to experiment and to push on the status quo, all while keeping our customers’ best interest at the forefront,” Rob Enslin, Google Cloud President, said via email to Business Insider; the move is part of a growing trend amongst providers, they are trying to lure more Wall Street clients by hiring former bankers; IBM recently hired the former CTO of Bank of America, Howard Boville, to lead their cloud strategy; Google Cloud believe flexibility is one of their key differentiators, Enslin explains, Our differentiator is that we offer our customers choice. We support an open cloud approach, where customers can freely choose which combination of services and providers will best meet their needs over time.” Business Insider.
