More than 113,000 people in the UK switched their bank accounts in the month of March, the third highest amount on record and highest since March 2016; according to new data published by the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) Monzo saw the highest number of switches in Q4 2019 with 20,843, Nationwide was next with 14,959, Lloyds had 12,243 and Starling Bank had 9,247; this was the first time Monzo took the top spot in account switching and it was also the best quarter ever for fellow challenger Starling Bank; the new switching data from March shows account switches are on the rise and that challengers are likely to be performing well in this crisis.
