Mastercard Shares Digital Identity Vision in New Report

In December Mastercard shared that they were working on an international digital identity which would be able to verify financial transactions, work with governments etc.; many were skeptical of the ambitions and today we learned more about their plans in a 24-page report; the platform would put consumers in control with a locally stored identity as opposed to a centralized system; consumers would be able to set up their ID at a bank or other financial institution; president of cyber and intelligence solutions, Ajay Bhalla noted that it will securely bind a person’s identity to their smartphone or other device; Wired has further details about how the platform would work.
