JPMorgan’s Quorum in Talks to Merge with ConsenSys

Reuters reports that Quorum is in discussions with ConsenSys on a potential merger according to people familiar with the plans; it is expected that the deal will be announced within the next six months; currently Quorum has 25 employees and it isn’t currently known whether they will join ConsenSys; JPMorgan Chase currently uses Quorum to run the Interbank Information Network which is a payments network which hosts 300 banks; previously JPMorgan noted they would also use Quorum to issue JPMorgan Coin; ConsenSys is a well known startup in the blockchain space but recently shared they were laying off 14% of their employees as it restructures, separating their software business from their venture business.
