JPMorgan Chase Continues to Prioritize User Experience

In 2016 JPMorgan’s corporate and investment bank user experience team consisted of 20 people, the team has since grown to 130 and is scheduled to reach 160 by end of the year; Debra Herschmann, Head of User Experience at JPMorgan’s corporate and investment bank, has helped to lead the charge on ensuring user experience is an integral part of the bank’s technology overhaul; “When people say ‘I don’t have enough time to think about design or to incorporate design in the process,’ I remind them that it’s really expensive to build the wrong thing,” Herschmann told Business Insider; the rise of fintechs and apps like Uber have helped to shape how her team thinks about user experience; it goes beyond just what the app looks like but also how customers use the app and where content is structured within the app; the team has hired a mix of talent to design new products and rework existing tools, they are now looking to measure their success with more quantifiable data.
