JPMorgan Chase Building Dashboard for Data Sharing

In December JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said the bank was working on creating their own API for data sharing; on their earnings call CFO Jennifer Piepszak provided more details saying the bank is in the process of getting agreements from third party apps to only access customer information through the Chase API; “We hope through time that is exclusively the only way that third parties can access our customers’ data,” Piepszak said to Business Insider. “We think that’s the most secure way to do it.”; the dashboard will dictate which apps have access to what information which will help to make sharing information more secure; Gordon Smith, Co-President of JPMorgan Chase and CEO of Consumer and Community Banking was quoted as being supportive of the recent Visa acquisition of Plaid citing data security as a top benefit.
