Is 2020 the Year Consumers Get Their Wish of Bank Account from a Big 4 Tech Company?

A new Harris Poll survey by Ondot Systems asked Americans their thoughts about banking with big tech companies like Apple, Google, Amazon and Facebook; 64 percent of respondents said they would consider buying or applying for financial products from big tech; 81 percent of those 18 to 34 years old said they would prefer big tech over traditional financial firms; the big shift was with older respondents, 52 percent of those 55 to 64 years of age said they would go with big tech; the survey also showed that people trusted tech companies less with data with 74 percent saying tech companies were more likely to sell their personal information; people were willing to make a trade-off so long as products were more convenient to use, good at helping users stay on top of budgeting and spending, and more high-tech.
