Goldman Fights for Tech Talent

George Lee is the co-Chief Investment Officer of Goldman Sachs; increasingly Goldman Sachs is competing directly with big tech firms for top talent; Lee spoke at Goldman’s Technology and Internet Conference in San Francisco, sharing that the bank has 10,000 developers representing a quarter of their workforce; many of these employees are coming from companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Google and Facebook; Lee also discussed the wide variety of projects that they need help with and how working at the bank is a bit of an adjustment for some employers due to the regulatory environment; Lee is in charge of both software and infrastructure investments alongside Marco Argenti who was previously vice president of technology at AWS.
