Former CFTC Officials Create a Digital Currency Think Tank

Christopher Giancarlo, the former head of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, is creating the Digital Dollar Foundation to study converting the dollar into a fully electronic currency based on blockchain; the USA risks falling behind China as that country is in the process of developing its own digital currency; co-founders of the Digital Dollar Foundation include former CFTC official Daniel Gorfine and Giancarlo’s brother Charles Giancarlo, an investor with Silver Lake Partners; global consulting giant Accenture is supporting the foundation and its main initiative, the Digital Dollar Project.
