EU Elections Bring More Uncertainty to Fintech and Alternative Finance

Within 2 weeks the UK will have a new Prime Minister as Theresa May steps down and with this change the upheaval in fintech and alternative finance will continue; the last few years have been good to fintech with governments being very supportive, there is no guarantee this will continue; Niels Turfboer, Managing Director of fintech lender Spotcap, tells AltFi, “Fintechs and financial services companies are eager to know what’s going to happen with the Brexit negotiations – one way or the other. Uncertainty can hinder collaboration as well as partnerships, and a clear direction for the UK fintech community is crucial now to continue the momentum.”; the clearer the situation the better companies can prepare and new governments would gain a lot of favor by helping to clear this up.
