Digital Identity Becoming More Important Than Ever Before

More of our lives are going online by the minute as we all get used to living through social distancing and working from home; digital identity does not yet have one definition as many think it constitutes social media profiles and others believe it is their credit score; 76 percent of consumers are extremely or very concerned about having their information stolen online, 60 percent believe they are powerless to protect their identity; new technologies can better protect people online as many sites now have a simple, secure process that enables people to gain access to a variety of e-commerce and digital banking services; who should store our digital identity is still up for debate as both governments and big tech companies have proven to be careless with personal data; perhaps self sovereign identity is the way forward, though we are not yet there people can still better protect themselves digitally.
