Alipay is Not Yet Looking to Launch for U.S. Customers

Chinese tourists are able to use Alipay at more than 200,000 U.S. locations but the company does not have plans to launch fully in the U.S. yet; “Right now that’s not what we’re looking at,” said Carol Grunberg, the head of growth, global and strategic partnerships at Ant Financial, to American Banker. “It’s got to make sense.”; the company is still looking to add more locations so tourists can use Alipay all across the U.S.; while Ant Financial downplayed their aspirations, other executives believe the company has big plans for the U.S. market in the near future.
