A Ecosystem of Apps Helps Freelancers and Sole Proprietors Manage Their Finances

As the ecosystem of gig economy workers and freelancers expands a new batch of startups has tried to service these individuals with app based accounting, expense tracking and more; the FT runs through this new ecosystem and finds that some apps are good at solving a specific problem, but there is not a silver bullet; depending on the worker some people still like to use their own spreadsheets and send information to their accountant; what the FT found is most people use a system of apps to create their own mini ecosystem; with the gig economy estimated to continue expanding in the coming years companies will look to serve this new generation of workers is the most cost efficient, technology savvy way.
